I like to make stuff ... and while I enjoy making web sites and software interfaces I also enjoy the experience of crafting something by hand. There's a satisfaction that comes from shaping raw materials into something useful. Something independent of an operating system. Something that combines function and form. Something you can touch and feel. Something musical. It's a lot of fun.
My lifelong love affair with guitars led me to try my hand at making my own. I had some ideas about what I wanted in an electric guitar and the only way I was going to live the dream was to build it myself. Then for fun I built some more!
No IKEA nearby? The cost of freight is more than the actual furniture? Well, my friend, you're probably going to have to design something and make it yourself.
There's something satisfying about restoring something to it's original usefullness. Like an old guitar amplifier. Or an old dresser with cool lines.
